These are the second set of my favourite pictures, mostly taken while I was exploring
areas of Paris where Atget worked, which I had plotted on a map of the city
in the six months before my visit. He was very concerned about capturing
"Old Paris", the areas of the city which reflected a culture that was fast
disappearing, so it wasn't a suprise to find that, around 56 years after
his death, much of it had disappeared, and had been replaced by the new.
More surprising in fact that so much seemed perhaps very little different
from his times. Going back recently I think more has change in the last
25 years since I took these pictures than before.
